Name the Cat – Win an Amazon Gift Card

A black  cat with green eyes  figures prominently in my novella, The Spanish Locket. Her guardian is a psychometry practitioner (that’s someone who gets psychic vibes from objects).  Best name for miss kitty will be used in the novella and the winner will get a $25 Amazon gift card.  Post your suggestions in the comment box – or if you’re feeling protective, email me nancy [at] nancyhendrickson [dot] com.  Thanks for your help :)

Definitely Sybil!

This cat looks as if she is also a psychic link. To the late, but still great: Great-Grandma Irene. Or also known as Grams.

Cheryl, you’ve done something weird again. The only calico cat I ever had was named Isabella, and called Bella.

Hecate, goddess of the shadows. Called Katie but rarely.

Ahh . . . a fitting name for such a cat

I’m thinking of something warm and exotic – Spice, Cinnamon or Nutmeg. Of course, if I was going to have a cat of my own, I would need to call him Gladstone. I have no idea why. And if I had a Jack Russell, it would be called Flowerpot. Again, no idea why.

You can see why we have no pets :-D

This is a tortoiseshell, so must be a female cat, then her name is “Sapphire”. In fact she looks very much like mine, her brother a red-haired tom is “Horatio”, they are 3 years old and a eight paw demoloition squad around the house.

She is such a classy lady!

She needs a name with simple elegance…simple so readers remember her name and elegant because she is elegant.

Looking forward to the launch of your new book

I think her name should be Desdemona, like the fair maid of Venice of Shakespeare’s Othello. Desdemona’s father thought that Othello must have charmed her with drugs and black magic
Her nickname could be Desi.

Steamy..I’m going by the temperament displayed on her face.

I’ve always liked “Pyewacket,” the name of Kim Novak’s cat in the old Jimmy Stewart movie “Bell, Book and Candle.”

Best wishes for the book!

That’s if the psychic has a sense of humor or sense of irony or perhaps inherited the cat.

I think a good name would be Tarot?

Romy Macias February 3, 2013 at 1:12 am

Dulcinea, since it’s one of the characters in Don Quixote, the Spanish novel!
Good luck with your new book!

I like ‘muse’ or ‘story’, or ‘Cuento’ (Koohento) for something Spanish.
Good luck naming her.

She seriously looks like a cat I’d name ‘Orb’.
