Feathers That Perch in the Soul

Feathers That Perch in the Soul

In which the author bares her soul in words and pictures

What happens with a non-fiction author uncovers a trove of poetry written years ago? A slim volume of words and pictures . . . a brief glimpse into the world of a creative.

I enjoyed this collection of images and poems from Nancy Hendrickson. I don’t read much poetry as a rule, but today I decided to download Feathers That Perch in the Soul as I have read some of Nancy’s other non-fiction books. It was just what I needed on a cold dull day while I sat in my office at the bottom of the Southern Hemisphere, searching for inspiration. I moved for a short while to a sofa in the living room while I read the poems and considered the images. The pages uplifted my soul and made think and ponder. The art is wonderful. Well done Nancy. ┬áLoved the cover as well.

If you have a drawer full of poetry, short stories or essays . . . or a smartphone with great pix, get your work out into the world. You are a creative. Own it.
