In which the author bares her soul in words and pictures
What happens with a non-fiction author uncovers a trove of poetry written years ago? A slim volume of words and pictures . . . a brief glimpse into the world of a creative.
I enjoyed this collection of images and poems from Nancy Hendrickson. I don’t read much poetry as a rule, but today I decided to download Feathers That Perch in the Soul as I have read some of Nancy’s other non-fiction books. It was just what I needed on a cold dull day while I sat in my office at the bottom of the Southern Hemisphere, searching for inspiration. I moved for a short while to a sofa in the living room while I read the poems and considered the images. The pages uplifted my soul and made think and ponder. The art is wonderful. Well done Nancy. Loved the cover as well.
If you have a drawer full of poetry, short stories or essays . . . or a smartphone with great pix, get your work out into the world. You are a creative. Own it.
