Do You Need a Coach? I Did.

Airborne MuseI did business for many years before I realized I needed a coach.  Too many years.

[and since I offer coaching services, I don't want you to see this post is a self-serving ad - cause it's not).

The turning point came for me when I received an assignment from F&W to write an Internet genealogy book. (By the way,the book is still available at Amazon – but I suggest waiting to buy a copy til I do a revised version.)

While organizing the book – or should I say TRYING to organize the book – I realized that I just couldn’t get my head around how to structure the contents. I wrestled this baby for weeks – and just couldn’t come up with a structure I felt worked. Finally, I threw in the towel and went looking for a coach.

As fortune has it, I found a great guy named Kim, and he quickly helped me get my head around the book’s structure.

Since then, I’ve called Kim many times to help with other issues–so don’t let anyone tell you that a good coach doesn’t need coaching herself!

Why Use a Coach?

  • Gain clarity
  • Use your thoughts to create, not negate
  • Identify your strengths
  • Learn to focus, focus, focus!
  • Determine your true values
  • Align your actions with your beliefs and goals

So maybe this is a little ad for my own Coaching to Zen services – - but I hope more than that, it gives you pause – - a few moments to think about what obstacles (either internal or external) are getting in the way of your reaching your Nirvana.

For me, there were a lot of inner gremlins chattering away, but the core issue was time management. For you, it may be a lack of clarity of vision, organizational challenges, or work that doesn’t align with your core values.

Thoughts to Roll Around In Your Mind, Both for Business and Life

I invite you to take a few minutes and think through the obvious answers like:

  • too hard
  • not enough time
  • not smart enough
  • don’t have enough financial resources
  • don’t have someone to help me
  • not enough knowledge

and get down to the core of those answers.

And, when you’re done thinking, if you need some help gaining focus or clarity, shoot me an e-mail and let’s talk. I offer a free 15-minute consultation – so you have nothing to lose.
